Message | Mr Speaker, I would like just say that the ANI will be not alongside its government partner PCN. On this matter I think that our political positions are at the opposite. On few things we agreed with the previous governments, and among this there are the protection of our society from the influence of religions, which we judge to be social aggregates that naturally generate conflicts. Their own religion is always the only and true according to the believers, and these absolutes that I believe they don't make part of a pluralist and democratic society. Freedom of religion is guaranteed in Istalia, that's for sure! Every citizen can practice their own religion but the State and its representatives must ensure that the society remains secular in the first place, that citizens grow up prepared to live in a pluralistic society and that no fanatisms or extremisms can undermine the sefeness of our citizens. This is why we are voting against this proposal. Thank you Tiziano Gardini, ANI's Whip |
