| Members of the Grand Council, It is time to put internal squabbles aside and concentrate on the threat to the south. Deltaria once again threatens to develop a nuclear weapons programme: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4398&p=150746&hilit=nuclear#p150746 And, puts intolerable pressure on Jelbania: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4398&p=150753#p150753 While Deltaria's military prowess has fallen sharply in recent years, we must take the threat seriously and act now. As my last act as Prefect, indeed as a member of this council, I ask that we must put aside the division in this council and present a united front to come up with a solution. I ask all Council members to give their opinions and advice the new Prefect, so that we might choose the right way to deal with this. I also take this opportunity to pass on my deepest wishes of support to the royal family over His Majesty the King's serious health issues. Members of the Council, It has been a honour to serve Vanuku and I know in my absence my party will continue to pursue a course that will maintain our nation's great status in Terra. | Message | Honoured members of the Grand Council, As my first act of Prefect I would like to thank my cousin Prince Aldrkai for his uninterrupted leal service and loyalty to the Kingdom. My father Archduke Wrntukai has agreed to the statement made by our excellent former Prefect, as do I. Furthermore he and I thank the Prince for his well wishes, the King even expressed wishing to speak to Prince Aldrkai. Do please visit. Before I discuss the pressing matter at hand I would first like to reconcile our two political blocs by establishing a new office, the Royal Advisor. I would like to offer this post to Prince Aldrkai, giving him a seat in the King's own chambers and all cabinet meetings so that he may share his wisdom and influence. With the barbaric threat rising we must stand together. For Deltaria there can only be one answer, an iron fist. When a dog bites you, you don't appease it with treats, you grab it by the neck and give it a time out whilst never showing fear for the sharp teeth. That is exactly what we must do now. We must act swiftly and decisively. Members of the Grand Council, I would like to hear your opinions on the course to come. My thoughts are with establishing a No Fly Zone above Jelbania to halt the Deltarian incursions, to offer a guarantee of independence to Jelbania and to send an ultimatum to Deltaria that they must cease the incursions and the production of nuclear weaponry or risk all out war. Should they refuse we must stand by our word to de-establish the current regime and turn Deltaria once more into a peaceful and prospering land with adequate human rights. Thank you. | Message | Members of the Grand Council, We thank the Prefect for her supportive tone and wish her the best of luck in her new role. Our faction wholeheartedly supports the suggestions put forward by Princess Mrjmaj in this debate and will support any efforts to bring the Deltarian dog to heel once and for all. We also ask that she look at the options for staggered economic sanctions - possibly in tandem with other major economic forces such as Istalia - to help exert pressure. We also announce that my predecessor, Prince Aldrkai - last who will bear the name of Banmek-Sntazed-Zhtál (OOC; he has no offspring and his only brother's family were massacred during the communist uprising) - has accepted the role of Royal Advisor and is truly honoured to take up his seat. In this climate of unity, we also ask that the new Prefect considers keeping General Karatak Merlékam-Zhtál in his post as Chief of the Royal Armed Forces Staff. The General, in conjunction with the current Defence Minister, is midway through an extensive modernisation programme of the armed forces and his removal may prove disruptive at this time. He has also being studying the revitalised HEAT missile defence system that Deltaria claims covers both their homeland and Jelbania from aerial attack and will be able to provide invaluable expertise on bypassing this system should it be necessary. | Message | Honoured members of the Grand Council, I am glad to hear Prince Aldrkai will continue to serve the Kingdom in his role as Royal Advisor. General Merlékam-Zhtál will of course remain in his position as Chief of Staff, I will also recommend him for a promotion to Commander-General, the highest rank in our Armed Forces.
