Description[?]:
The Government must inform the Parliament about recent talks between Istalia and Deltaria. Due to the nature of the talks, the Government opted to convene a special and reserved session of the Parliamentary Committee for the National Defence. Deltaria clearly went over the line and currently Vanuku is really scarry by a global nuclear conflict (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4398&start=940#p151026). The despotic nature of the Deltarian government makes it unpredictable and above all, if cornered, it could react devastatingly. Vanuku proposed a Preemptive Nuclear Strike all over Deltaria but the Foreign Minister Terenzi already declared Istalian opposition to such proposal. However, we cannot deny that Deltaria is becoming a worldwide menaces and that... for too long time and too many times Deltaria acted as rogue and destabilizing force for all the continent. Due to the seriousness of the situation, currently military solutions are being considered. A conventional war aimed to: - eradicate the Tsardom's Government - eradicate the Deltarian State and Deltarian Armed Forces - occupy the Deltarian territory - establishing protectorates on the area These are radical proposals, but for too many millennia this continent was plagued by the threat of Deltaria. The members of this committee and their parties cannot talk publicaly about this affairs until next evolution. All of you I'm sure are aware of the seriousness and sensitivity of this situation and such talks. (OOC: this could be an interesting Role Play for incoming days) |

Message | Il Blocco will not support in any way this government in its intention to invade another country by using the military. Primarily, because that attack on the national sovereignty of a State would open the door to that in the future, any coalition of countries that disagree with the policies carried out by other countries can be legitimized to carry out new military interventions. We urge the government to immediately mediate with Vanuku and stop any attempt to use nuclear weapons by Vanuku, because, leaving aside the absurdity of that proposal, the loss of human lives and environmental damage could be even greater than which has already been done by Deltaria, and that would not take us anywhere. Therefore, the parliamentary group of Il Blocco opposes both Vanuku's request to legitimize the use of weapons of mass destruction in Deltaria and the possible military invasion of Deltaria. From our parliamentary group we propose to the government to bet on a border closure of the bordering countries with Deltaria, to encourage the exodus of those who oppose the policies carried out by Deltaria by joining it with a reception program in neighboring countries, strict financial control and freezing of foreign accounts of government officials and sending members of the National Intelligence Center to Deltaria that can identify weak points. Message | Too late Mrs Giuliani, Deltaria started already an invasion of Jakania: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4398&start=940#p151036 http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7533&p=151043#p151037 Istalia will work within the world congress in creating an international task force to face the situation. |

Message | We are open to support a task force sent to Jakania in order to restore peace there, and to support a military intervention in Deltaria before Vanuku deploys any weapon, but it should be aimed only to strategic objectives and military buildings |

Message | Honorable members, Istalia has long been a beacon of light in a dark world. We have long stood for democracy and the rule of law, and our people have prospered from it. History may be lost on many a nation, but we remember. We remember the days of Jelbic aggression against the Deltarian peoples, and we remember when it was Istalia, under a capitalist President - Betta Maddaloni - ( http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&p=122873#p122873 ) that forced the Jelbic forces to stand down and support Deltaria in her time of need. How does Deltaria repay such gratitude, such kindness? How do they react, just a couple of centuries later? They decide to attack their neighbor, Jakania, in a hostile and bloodthirsty manner. The Lega Giusnaturalistica has deep philosophical roots, which include the right to personhood and the right to decide your own future. We cannot sit idly by while these rights are denied to our Jakanian brethren - fellow human beings. Istalia's blessings have come upon us in such a time as this so that we may defeat the Deltarian aggressors. We stand today, ready to authorize any necessary means - barring preemptive nuclear warfare - to end the Deltarian assault on human decency. Icaro Barbaria Minister of Internal Affairs LG |

Message | The PCN is in favor of using military forces in conjunction with other nations to overthrow the Tsar and establishing protectorates in Deltaria to prevent any further aggression from that state, but we do not support using nuclear weapons against Deltaria. Augusto Aloia, Prime Minister |

Message | Colleagues of the Committee, Jakania now should be our first goal. Our representative to the World Congress Security Council already announced our agreement to the organization of an international task force to intervene in Jakania. Actually, I think that currently all the istalian political forces agrees about such intervention, thus... this will avoid also internal useless infight. The Foreign Ministry, moreover, is costantly in contact with Wiel (Vanukean's capital) to stop any use of the nuclear arsenal against Deltaria (at least until a Deltarian Nuclear attack or until such attack is to be considered really probable). The Foreign Ministry heavily protested for such statements by part of Vanuku and we will continue to do soo. Thank you - Stefano Terenzi, Foreign Minister |
