Message | Babtunde Giwa, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure: "Some of the legislation originally enacted by the Bloc some time ago appears to have been overturned in the doldrums that ruled over this country sense, and part of what we need to do is to ensure that we're living up to what this Party has always stood for. But beyond that rather small reason, we bring up this legislation to ensure that when we talk about providing public services we do so in a way that benefits the public- not the private sector individuals who are lucky enough to own businesses. The ability to move about the country and to communicate within our borders is not something that should be held hostage to the whims of industrialists or foreign economic interests. Whether it's broader public works, in rail, in roads, and in communication, there are important national security interests and there are promises that we've made to the people to provide these services in an affordable and accessible way. "And in pursing this projects we need to reform how we conduct eminent domain: there is nothing more horrifying than the fact that other Governments previous to this one were not only allowed but practically encouraged to take land and property away from hard-working Talmorians to be turned over to some form of private business. These are changes that will safeguard property- and to ensure that we are putting every resource we have into helping the people of Talmoria." |

Message | Lekan Adesida, Deputy General Secretary of the United Boroist Cadre, Portfolio of Transport and Infrastructure: "While we find the reprobates in the Black Bloc reprehensible, we cannot deny the wisdom in seizing the transportation industry from the hands of capital. We may not trust the Bloc to manage these industries well, public ownership will still be an objective positive for the people." |
