Message | Mr Speaker, It is disappointing to see our allies in the PNR propose to impose tougher restrictions on law abiding gun owners in this country. By imposing gun control laws that are too strict, we only punish those who are purchasing and using their guns legally for hunting and sport shooting. If this parliament is serious about cracking down on gun violence, we need to be pushing for increased sentences for gun traffickers and those who actually commit crimes with a gun. We should not be punishing those who abide by the law as is. Rt. Hon. Isaac Steuart-Carmichael MP for Glentingham East Leader of the Royalist Party |
