Bill: Number Lumber Act 2210

Details

Submitted by[?]: Centrist Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2212

Description[?]:

As it stands the current law regarding the replanting of trees sets it so that more trees are planeted than necessary. While this is a safe guard against losing our forests, it is unnecessary. According to studies of current methods, replacing the trees to the maximum required is good enough. Our lumber industry, horrible stereotypes aside, do not want the trees to disappear as they are their main source of income, both natural and economically.

Hence we propose in this bill that the laws be changed to allow only the maximum needed to be replaced. Many industries in other nations do this as a method, and it works. Certains trees are cut at certain times and the maximum needed planted so that in the future they may be cut again, allowing for the growth of forests as well as supporting biodiversity.

MessageIt may be better for local governments to decide, judging by how they know their own trees better than we do.
