Current: The Head of State is hereditary and symbolic; the Head of Government chairs the cabinet.
Proposed: The Head of State is also Head of Government.

| Message | Herr Kongresspräsident, the Green List understands that on their own the position of Head of State in the Confederation is simply a ceremonial position and does not hold that much power, however the position has the highest legitimacy of any other position in the Confederation due to it being the only figure directly elected in a popular vote by the people. As the only person in the country directly elected by the people, and therefore the best indicator of the approval or disapproval of the government of the day, it would, in our opinion, be wrong to subjugate the position under the Head of Government who is often the result of post-election deals which are not exactly democratic. The Green List does not give its support to this bill proposal. |

| Message | Herr Kongresspräsident, The SKP is confused about the Green List's objections to this proposal. They have outlined perfectly the SKP's opinions regarding the position of Confederation President and why it should be consolidated as the only legitimate leadership position due to its direct election by the people. However, they then proceed to disapprove of the proposal and will not support its passage. The SKP does not understand this logic. |
