Message | Mr. Speaker, Banning slavery is like banning buggery, people will still do it in secrecy. We, true liberals, think that slavery is like any other business activity and should be regulated and taxed. Like banning firearms, buggery, prostitution or alcohol, banning slavery will also increase illegal and underground slave trading, which, like any other illegal activity, will ruin our economy. Black market will dissolve if we allow and tax such activities - through taxes our economy will prosper. We also would like to remind you, that banning something is very anti-capitalist and very fascist. It's a basic human right to buy and sell whatever anyone wishes. Message | Mr. Speaker, While it is true that banning something would not make it go away completely, what it does do is send a message that nation and its government does not condone such a practice and that there are consequences to committing such practices. We agree that outright banning things can be very authoritarian in nature, which is why we believe that this kind of thing should only be reserved to extreme practices that results in deliberate harm and/or discrimination. We believe slavery and segregation are policies that does such and should be banned. The government allowing people to be treated like products to be sold and owned is unacceptable.
