Mrs Deputy Speaker, you will already know this but unfortunately, it is my duty to announce this to both houses that unfortunately at about 1115pm yesterday evening the Speaker of the House of Fellows, The Right Honourable Mr James McVey MP LL.D MPM, Died suddenly after suffering a stroke, he served this house for over 60 years as speaker the first person to take the mantle after a break of 29 years he worked hard to keep order in this house and was the champion of the House of Fellows Anti-Harassment Task Force which has protected many staff members from the harassment of senior members.

We in the CSP would like to wish Mrs Walsh of our own party the best of look in deputising for the late Mr McVey until the government sees fit to call an Election of a new Speaker.

we would also like to call o the good-will of the house to give Mr McVey full Diplomatic Honours at his funeral and to appoint him to the Companions of Honour.
