Bill: OOC RP: Impeachment Proceedings Reference

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 5011

Description[?]:

This act lays out how to impeach the Head of State, and what they can be impeached for.

If the HOS is impeached then early elections MUST be called and the party who's HOS has been impeached cannot run a candidate in the next election, however they may endorse another party. If the party who's HOS has been impeached decides not to comply and either runs a canadaite in the elections or blocks early elections then they are subject to de-activation by a moderator.

Impeachable Offenses:

Political Bribery: A compromise is not bribery, however offenses that are included in bribery are.
1. Bribing another party with cabinet seats in exchange for an endorsement and vis-versa.
2. Bribing any party with political gain of any kind in exchange for political gain for yourself of any kind.

High Treason: High treason is a treasonous act against ones country in favor of another. Examples include.
1. Accepting a bribe from another foreign party in exchange for political gain.
2. Exposing classified information to another country.
3. Serving another countries interest over your own countries.
4. Any other treasonous acts.

Violation of the Constitution and Other Laws:

If the Articles of Impeachment are put forth they must be left in debate for 1 year ( 2 days) or longer, if they are not left in debate for 1 year they are illegitimate. It will take 60% of the legislator to remove a HOS from office. Something is only impeachable if it happened within the past 8 years.

note: If the party commits any of these offenses there HOS can be impeached it does not have to be role-played by the HOS.

Prime Minister Impeachment (if there is one)

Same rules apply but it only takes a majority vote to remove.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
