Emma Andreotti, Refomist Leader in the Assembly

Mr.Speaker,
We believe that this country has an immense culture and that there must be a national policy to protect our cultural heritage rather than delegate this delicate matter to regional governments. We also believe that the private sector should not be cut off completely from cultural protection and that is why in our proposal we have included a balance between public and private.
We believe in the value of culture, a culture that teaches young Istalians to be better people as the greatest artists of our country were centuries ago, for this reason we propose a great financing plan for cultural affairs in Istalia. Thank you

MessageMr Speaker,
We support this proposal but we are ready to present an amendement to this law about the article 4. Actually we prefer the option: "The government gives monetary grants to organizations which have established or are looking to establish museums".

This will assures the creation of a network of museum and cultural institution, indipendents, free to develop themself in authonomy supported by financial intervention of the State but that will be not subjected jiust to "market-like policies".

This could be an opportunity for our cultural institution to flourish within a new system of management of culture and cultural institutions.

Thank you

MessageMembers of the Assembly,

Regional governments are handling these issues because they are closer with their own communities than the central government is. What is more, by letting them handle with this issues, the central government can worry about others while allowing regional governments to better spend the resources in cultural preservation and improvement, in collaboration with their communities. This is tragic.

The inclusion of the private sector also sends a powerful message: that the government has no time to - or does not want to - keep protecting the very own culture of our nation, by instead handling it to the economic powers that will use only the most profitable pieces while letting die part of our culture that does not give money back.

Random fact: Alduria, Rildanor and Lourenne all have Canrilaise (French) cultures.

Random quote: The Wolfsheim Virus is not a real actual disease in the conventional medical sense of the term. Rather, it is a cluster of symptoms which are just part of the general socio-economic disease that is capitalism. The main symptoms the sufferers are experiencing are a direct result of capitalist poverty, as in malnutrition, poor housing and so on, combined with psycho-somatic symptoms which are a direct consequence of the contradictions and stresses which are inherent to the capitalist system. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party
