Bill: Treaty Withdrawal (Allied Nations)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvish Popular Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2212

Description[?]:

This treaty, well-meaning as it is, is probably the biggest threat to Dorvik in the world at the moment. It states "that forceful attempts should be met with a forceful response. Therefore, all members will intervene on the world stage when a nations sovereignty is threatened." This means if there is any international dispute Dorvik is legally obliged to intervene 'forcefully'. Do we really wish to send our children to remote corners of the world to die in alien lands over wars that have nothing to do with us. All this wishy-washy save the world talk is very nice, but politically even a fool can realise is totally impractical, even impossible. Vote yes to withdraw from the biggest national security threat Dorvik faces today.

MessageWe ask the NDP to please explain their loyalty to this treaty? Allow us to re-emphasise the terms of the treaty which dictate Dorvik must 'forcefully' intervene to protect national sovereignity. Do you really understand the sheer logistical impossibility and human cost this treaty will bring about? Do you wish for the children of our land to die in foreign countries over disputes that have nothing to do with us?

In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules.
