Bill: Contraception Waste Reduction Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: One Cildania Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2217
Description[?]:
While contraception and "safe sex" should be strongly advocated by the government for the control of STI's, offering them for free is not a viable method for this government to continue. Providing them for free is costly, and in terms of our small budgets and low taxes, spending needs to be controlled. Furthermore, the wide availability of them means that they will be wasted, especially by children who don't realise their real use. They can be offered for free from family planning clinics, but free in public is not an effective way to encourage safe sex. |

Message | oh goodie, lets increase the spread of AID'S, HIV, STD's, STI's, higher birth rates and teenage pregnancies at the same time! Increase the burden on healthcare, child support, education etc.... I think free condoms is a small price to pay on the grand scheme of things, especially considering the alternative. While I agree a focus on sex education is always a priority in this matter, taking away contraceptions would do more harm on the economy and social well-being of Cildanians. |

Message | I'm not proposing taking them away. I'm simply proposing moving the place in which they are free (family planning clinics, local health authorities). This gives the best of both worlds. It's just not one of the multichoice options available. Plus free contraceptive is never a guarantee of sexual safety anyway. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
