| Message | As firmly as this government is a proponent of freedom of choice, it is also clear on the need for those choices to be reasonable and not to infringe upon the choices of others. In the case of Article 1: There is a firm opinion across the globe that incest should not be legal, so introducing this legislation will put this country in step with the rest of Terra. In the case of Article 2: Again, the vast majority of countries in Terra agree with this government's position. Over and above that, and the principle reason for changing the law, is that by anyone's definition public sexual intercourse is obscene. And if behaviour is obscene, clearly that behaviour is offensive by accepted standards of decency. Behaviour which falls into this category clearly ought to be restricted, as it goes beyond the limits of freedom of choice as this government sees it. It is to be stressed that re-alignment with other nations (as long as it in keeping with one's other policies and beliefs) is a good thing where possible. This is because, the perception of this nation by other countries affects how we are treated in the world, and how desirable a place we are to visit, either for tourism purposes, or indeed to take up permanent citizenship of Beluzia. |
