Bill: Grand Coalition of 4720
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partito Democratico Liberale Nazionale
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4721
Description[?]:
The PDLN, seeing the fractured political landscape in Istalia at the current moment, proposes a grand coalition between the three largest party's. We may not agree on a variety of social and economic issues. But the PDLN is willing to lay aside its most extreme of proposals in order to pragmatically govern the nation together with partners it might not agree with on a variety of issues. The PDLN hopes that the other party's in the proposal agree with this assesment. We also propose to have this cabinet be let by the BdS. As they are the largest party and this seems more then fair. |

Message | Mr Speaker, This is going to be interesting to see. Will the Left Bloc throw away their values to once more lead a government? And not only that but with two right-wing parties. If this were to be the case then the Blocist statements about the ANI being power-hungry is basically straight up hypocritical. But we'll see. Message | Members of the Assembly, There is a saying that goes "you should not sell the skin of the bear before hunting it". Mr. Amadeo should apply it to himself. As our secretary general has stated (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&start=1540#p153717), the Left Bloc is aware that there is no possible progressive majority to create a government that would undo the damaging changes that the current government, which is in a large minority in the National Assembly at the moment, did. From the Left Bloc we appreciate the intention of the PDLN in proposing this coalition, proving to be the only minimally responsible right that remains in Istalia. However, there cannot be any agreement between the Left Bloc and the ANI. Not only have they neglected their principles again and again to come to power, but they have also opened wide the doors of this Assembly to neo-fascist parties. And that is something we consider serious. Furthermore, our ideologies are far from each other, starting from the Head of State and going into centralisation or even privatization. In addition, in this coalition proposal, the Left Bloc would be virtually without real power, because despite leading this hypothetical coalition it has hardly any effective power, when the majority of the Ministries of weight fall on the other parties, therefore heading a cabinet full of rogue ministers, with a veritable majority of right-wing parties in the Assembly that would pass many conservative laws that the government would have to apply. And the Left Bloc will not take part in this. However, we warn the PDLN that allowing the entry into government of an openly neo-fascist party seriously undermines the foundations of our own democracy, and endangers the very values on which our country is built.
