Message | Mr Speaker, While we fully support eliminating public financing of political parties and campaigns, we cannot support this legislation as written. While it claims to eliminate public financing, it truly doesn't. Article 2 lays out tax credits for those who donate to political campaigns, up to 75%. Mr Speaker, this legislation is yet another half attempt at solving a problem by the Liberal Party. While I know the Liberals will pass this bill with their majority, they will not have the support of the Conservative Party. Hon. Pierre Blanchet MP for Saint Adrian Vimy Interim Leader of the Conservative Party |
