Message | Mr Speaker, While we are not completely opposed to a child benefit, we will not support this bill in it's current form. This legislation leaves it up to the Ministry of Social Services to decide what the child benefit is and how it is distributed, which is a large burden on them. Any legislation to create a child benefit program, or any social benefit program for that matter, must lay out exactly what the benefit will be and how it will be distributed if it is to gain our support. Hon. Cecil MacDonald MP for Sutton East Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Hutori |
