Message | The BRP will support this change. It seems sensible to reduce the length of office when governments rely on coalitions from one term to another, especially when the cabinet consists of ideologies which are not ideally matched for each other. This causes instability and stagnation. The BRP thinks that the recent terms of office have provided some evidence of this, despite the best efforts and intentions of those involved in those coalitions. |

Date | 22:53:22, April 17, 2020 CET | From | Beluzia Renewal Party (BRP) | To | Debating the Term Periods |
Message | To the BRP two things are in the balance here: 1. The love of staying in power longer v What's best for the country and our citizens when we keep having awkward coalitions? 2. Will the final vote be yes, no or abstain? (Hint - examining past voting record, generally UBWP doesn't do abstain) |
Date | 23:20:33, April 17, 2020 CET | From | Unsubmissive Beluzian Workers Party | To | Debating the Term Periods |
Message | We support a 4 year term, however we will be abstaining because we wish for the Give Public Figures Privacy Please Act, which has near unanimous support, to pass Parliament first. This is because it will pass on March 4743, and if the term change is passed right now, the next election will be on February 4743. However, we will propose another term change bill to ensure that this well meaning reform is passed |
