Bill: Solidarity with Dundorf - Stop the embargo

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Fascist Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2215

Description[?]:

The Likatonian people are outraged at the intent of the following organisation:

http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=210

While we recognise that it is the inherent right of every nation to choose their trading partners this organisation is aimed at changing the national laws of Dundorf through a co-ordinated embargo aimed at damaging a fellow socialist nation.

Dundorf has the right to make any internal laws it sees fit, and nowhere has removed the population's right to vote them out of office if the laws of Dundorf are unpopular. The Dundorf government has the mandate to legislate as they see fit.

This embargo has not been sanctioned by the united countries.

We call on all signatory nations to the above agreement to reconsider their positions and express our solidarity with Dundorf.

MessageThis will not be without consequence for us, Malivia is looking to sign our friendship treaty but is a signatory to the above treaty.

AM PSS calls on all socialist/communist/progressive and indeed ALL parties in Likatonia to support.

MessageAxis Mundi Revolution! believes we can ONLY, responsibly, support the right of EVERY nation, to make their own, internal, laws.

Every nation has a people with certain quirks... perhaps the NEXT 'target' will be Likatonia, with our desire to remain a Republic. If the people of Dundorf wish to see something different from their government, there is no 'internal' monopoly... and the people can simply call for an alternative.

We oppose the embargo.

MessageWe would oppose the embargo if it were being proposed in our nation, due to it's economic impact on our industries.

We cannot support this resolution, however, because we do not wish to intervene in any other nation's policy decisions; neither Dundorf's nor those of the signatory nations. Besides, as long as those nations do not trade with Dundorf, there are some excellent opportunities for our industries to pick up the slack.

MessageThe Axis Mundi Revolution! doesn't see the purpose of THIS bill as being about managing to actually overturn the embargo, unless we completely miss our mark.

What we see this as, is the parties of Likatonia, firstly, deciding NOT to be involved in HELPING to force an embargo on Dundorf because of their internal politics.

And, secondly - we believe this is letting a voice of dissent be heard. The international community is NOT united in this attempt to FORCE internal government to conform to external pressures. It is important (if Likatonia passes this legislation) that this voice be heard.

After all - it is one of the things that our Likatonian government has made central to it's existence for so many years - the right to 'sovereignty'.

MessageWe thank all our allies in Likatonia for their support and understanding, whether or not this bill passes. Dundorf appreciates your aid.

MessageDue to the industrial-economical benefits of supporting an embargoed country, and declaring that our belief in freedom of religion is underneath and less important than said economic benefits, we vote in favour.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.

Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder
