Proof of passage: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=623162 --National Description and Culture-- There are two ethnic groups in Davostan, the Davostani (Danish) and the Davostani Befäskars (Swedish) locally known as the Kivonians. The modern people of Davostan are descended from the native Davostani (Danish) people, who migrated to the continent in between 300-500CE from northern Artania (modern day Dorvik and Dundorf) and were isolated on the western side of the continent, with little to no contact with the indigenous Mashacara people of Hutori. Later on many of the Befäskar (Swedish) people settled in southern Davostan. The native Davostanis embraced the newly settled Befäskars because of the similar linguistics of the two, thus sharing the name of Davostanis for some time. However, it was becoming clear that the ethnic differences between the native Davostanis and the Davostani Befäskars were very large, and with the influence of northern artanian military customs, the Davostani Befäskars developed a proud warrior culture expanding their differences with the native Davostanis even more. The Davostani Befäskars became locally known as the Kivonians, named after Kivonah, one of the Davostani Befäskar warrior clans who led the split between the native Davostanis and the Davostani Befäskars. The Davostanis and Kivonians ended up in many wars between each other, especially after the latter developed the belief that only the strongest should rule, a belief still existent in their culture. In the ninth century CE, Skjöld (Icelandic) explorers hailing from Telemon discovered the territory and claimed it for their own. After a few wars, revolts, and treaties, the Skjöld invaders and the two Davostani people came to a prosperous compromise that still exists today. At present day, the nation’s Davostani people are still split between the two ethnic groups, the Davostanis in the north of the country, who are typically less conservative and have more Artanian style customs with Satanalist religious views, and the Kivonians in the south, more conservative and still practices some level of military customs with Hosianism as their faith. --Ethnicity-- >> Davostani (Danish): 39.5% >> Kivonian (Swedish): 37.5% >> Skjöld (Icelandic): 12% >> Hutori (Canadian): 4% >> Dorvish/Dundorfish (Prussian/German): 4% >> Other: 3% --Religion-- >> Hosianism (Christianity): 38% *Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholic Church): 21% *Luthori/Bishopal Church (Protestant/Anglican): 11% *Telemon Orthodox Church: 6% >> Agnostic/Atheistic/Irreligious: 31% >> Satanalist (Satanism): 26% >> United Church of Terra: 2% >> Other: 3% --Language-- Party names, candidates, and RP characters should all have Davostani (Danish), Befäskar/Kivonian (Swedish) or Skjöldunga (Icelandic) names, seeming as those are the three most commonly spoken languages in the nation, with Davostani and Kivonian names being dominant because they are the more commonly spoken than Skjöldunga names. --How to write certain words-- 𝙄𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝: Davostan (Dovmark), example: My country is Davostan (Mit land er Dovmark) Kivonia (Kovmark), example: My country is Kivonia (Mit land er Kovmark) Davostani (Davostanske), example: The Davostani National Party (Det Davostanske Nationale Parti) Kivonian (Kivonske), example: The Kivonian National Party (Det Kivonske Nationale Parti) Davostanis (Dovskere), example: Davostanis are a nice people (Dovskere er et venligt folk) Kivonians (Kovskere), example: Kivonians are a nice people (Kovskere er et venligt folk) Davostani (Dovostansk), example: I am eating Davostani food (Jeg spiser davostansk mad) Kivonian (Kivonsk), example: I am eating Kivonian food (Jeg spiser kivonsk mad) 𝙄𝙣 𝙎𝙬𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙝: Davostan (Davostan/Dovmark), example: My country is Davostan (Mitt land är Davostan/Dovmark) Kivonia (Kivonien/Kovmark), example: My country is Kivonia (Mitt land är Kivonien/Kovmark) Davostani (Davostanska), example: The Davostani National Party (Det Davostanska Nationalpartiet) Kivonian (Kivoniska), example: The Kivonian National Party (Det Kivoniska Nationalpartiet) Davostanis (Davostanier), example: Davostanis are a nice people (Davostanier är ett trevligt folk) Kivonians (Kivonier), example: Kivonians are a nice people (Kivonier är ett trevligt folk) Davostani (Davostansk), example: I am eating Davostani food (Jag äter davostansk mat) Kivonian (Kivonisk), example: I am eating Kivonian food (Jag äter kivonisk mat) TL;DR: Davostanish (Danish), Kivonian (Swedish) and Skjöld (Icelandic) culture are the most dominant in the nation; PARTY NAMES SHOULD PRIMARILY BE IN DANISH OR SWEDISH! Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
