Message | Explain how one and three protect peoples rights? Criminals are in prison as a punishment, not to earn an income. One is so very illogical, communes are an important part of creating viable and stable communities based upon interdependence and mutal help, yet you wish to get rid of them, in the name of peoples rights? |

Message | We would support this bill without article one. We ask that you consider compromise in this situation. We concur with the Northern Leagues assesment of the situation regarding gated communities, however we cannot agree with their statement on prisoners earning a wage. Re-offending is an area of crime that is within the governments power to curb. If a prisoner leaves incarceration with no financial resources then they are likley to be tempted to re-offend. However earning a wage for their work will teach them the values of our society, and ethics of hard work for financial reward. Although by no means perfect we feel that it would certainly be a small help in the rehabilitation of prisoners. Prison is a punishemnt, but it is important that we also use it to improve those who have made mistakes. Crminals are still human, and are still part of our society. |
