From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the A Bill on the Maximum Wage | Message | Perhaps, but it's worth a shot.
The Minister of Finance has noted a discernible loss of tax revenue from high-income earners due to the maximum wage. Eliminating the cap would allow money to be repatriated to help invest in the Likatonian economy and finance government spending, much of which goes to vulnerable groups. |

From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the A Bill on the Maximum Wage | Message | So long as there is a salary cap, higher income and wealthier individuals will maintain offshore accounts. If eliminated, many will repatriate the income and assets, which can then partially be invested in the Likatonian economy and partially be taxed (at our 50% marginal rate) by the government. So both investment and government spending would increase. While not all will repatriate their assets, many will and Likatonia stands to benefit. |

From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the A Bill on the Maximum Wage | Message | We would also attract higher-skilled labour and prevent "brain drain" where our professionals emigrate to command higher salaries abroad. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the A Bill on the Maximum Wage | Message | That is true. Our party has thought of a good compromise though. Why don't we let each state decide if a salary cap should be enforced. This will let states have more freedom in doing what they want and mean they can decide on what industry to have in their state. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
