From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | Well we imagine that their is some form of state legislature we just don't RP it as they only have small powers and all powers are conditional to the federal government. However we are not against local legislatures and if other parties what to do this they can.
We would have to discuss though how we will decide who gets the seats and how many seats are on each legislature. |

From | The Moderates | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | Ok.
For the seats we could use the percentage of votes a party gets in that state in a general election. For example the IRP got 33% of the votes in West Bolton so they could have 33% of seats in the West Bolton legislative assembly. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | Howmany seats should there be on each assembly? I think we should have either 20 which are awarded in the same way as they are in the federal election or 50 whch are awarded on percentage of the vote in each state.
Should each of this assemblies have their own government with majority support in the assembly (a parliamentary executive) or should they just be run by one party who wins the govenorship (a presidential executive). |

From | Conservative Republican Party | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | I would like this slightly more complicated system for the state governments:
State legislators have 100 Senate seats which can be changed, 95 of these seats are awarded proportionality 5 are awarded to the state winner. They also have 250 House of Commons or Representatives Seats handed out proportionality. A bill is created for legislator, bills have to start in the house and the senate approves them.
As for the governor who can sign or veto bills, the overall winner of the state should not get them, on the states page the bottom party with the least votes will be removed and they ca give there votes to another party, and so on until a party gets over 50% of the vote. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | I think this will just confuse people. The 20 seat single assembly is simple to work out as the game already does it for us. We would be for having more memebers but belive anything more than 100 is a bit to much. WE also see no need to make it bicameral. It will just be more confusing for those who vote.
What do the other parties think. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | OOC: Also I guess we wont RP these legislatures and we can do everything on the national level. We are fine with a proportional and state winner system but belive making them bicameral and larger than the legislature is wrong. A bicameral system just means it will be harder to change laws. We think a parliamentary executive would also be better with a mainly ceremonial Govorner but we would like to hear what other parties think. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | To CRP: okay that is a bit better. We wouldn't mind the governorship executive if we have to implement it as long as the local cabinet is a coalition. What we are definatly against is a bicameral legislature which is bigger than the senate. We believe we should just have the 100 seat unicameral assembly the CRP said for the senate or a 50 seat unicameral assembly with 45 proportional and 5 winner seats in the assembly as a compromise. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | Thats okay, we say anything which is regulated by the local gov the states decide, those currently include highways exclusivly in the state, a police service, forest maintainence, smoking regulation, firework policy and more. |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | gambling laws, industrial hemp, salary caps, putting in cufews if a state of emergency has been declared, how juries work, operation of librarys and museums (which are funded by national governement), the right to keep wild pets, seting concealed carry laws for weapons (at the moment) and the distribution of some social welfare benefits are all currently controlled by State legislatures.
OOC: I say that their should be a page for each state where they lsit their position on some/all of these issues. As it is currently unknown what the states curent laws on these issues we think each state government should decide what they want to begin with and then we can start changing them |

From | Likatonia First | To | Debating the Introduce legislative assemblies for all of the states | Message | Well as you are going to make each one you will have to update the description to the laws that are in practice for each state. I think we should make seperate bills to change laws but each of these pages would be like "the laws of the land page" for each of the states. Which is important as you have got to know what laws each state has. |
