Description[?]:
This is a concept I have wanted to adopt for quite some time, obviously it has only been me here, but now that there is another player, I wanted to float it for comments. Basically, each player would jointly control/own the House/Clan of Yu. The Yu Clan are the parent clan of all the monarchs of Yingdala (at least everyone claims a male-line connection; but my previous ruling families, as well as the Sun Clan (WuHan) do have actual male-line connections). In essence, they are based on the Five Emperors, as well as Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian, which indicate that the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties were all male-line branches descending from the Yellow Emperor. Joint control would be something like this: each player would alternate playing/controlling the ruling monarch. So if there are two players, they would alternate controlling the monarchy after each monarch passes. The players would also make joint decisions (by vote) on critical decisions, like marriage to a foreign house (since this is a foreign policy decision). If the player controlling the monarch is inactivated or chooses to leave the nation and/or game, then the monarch that player controls will abdicate to the next male in the line of succession. Obviously, some of these ideas could be refined, but I welcome your thoughts. |

Message | I really like this idea actually, it sounds like a lot of fun. I'd love this sort of system. We could (if people get busy) have the monarch abdicate or something along those lines so the next player can control the Monarch. |

Message | Glad you like it. I will include that provision that if a player is inactivated and that player controls the monarch, then the monarch will abdicate. Really good idea. Thanks. If you have more, keep them coming. I actually plan for the Son of Heaven to pass relatively soon (15 years or so) since he is about 66. His son is a military man (current Rear Admiral, but was thinking to eventually get him promoted to Grand Marshal, which would cement the family's real control over the armed forces), so it might fit for you. |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
