Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperial Party of Selucian
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2221
Description[?]:
Knowing our beloved citizens live longer then former generations. And knowing neither a privat not a public pension system is able to pay a 20 years pension or longer. The todays world is seeing our beloved citizens leaving the educational systems with the age of 25 years while former generation started to work in the age of 22 years. Therefore it is reasonable to raise up the retirement age from 65 up to 67 years. §1.1 This law shall effect only those who will enter the work force 4 years after this law passed. All citizens who are in the working force after this law passed will not be effected by it. |

Message | Excuse me? "it will affect only those people below the age of 35"????? Either everyone gets a raise or none, but we will NOT tolerate this discrimination. I promise you riots in college towns, since no Selucian student will like what you do here |

Message | Perhaps instead of making age 35 the magical cut-off date, we should keep the retirement age at 65 for those who aren't currently in the workforce, and raise it to 67 for those who have yet to enter the workforce. This way, no one who is currently working gets the shaft, and those who haven't started working yet know what to expect. |

Message | Indeed, this seems to be a good compromise. We will change it. |

Message | This is completely useless. So if I find a job today, I have to work till 65, if I only find one tomorrow I will have to work 2 extra years???? Besides, this wil not change the student protests (like the ones in RL France the past month), since no students are currently working full gtime (or at least you can count them on one hand) |

Message | There does have to be a cutoff somewhere, and the date of the passage of this bill seems reasonable in that nobody currently working will get the proverbial shaft. BUT, VBS does make a valid point. Perhaps it would be better if we made the law effective for those who join the workforce, say, four years after the date of passage. (OOC: MANY students in my RL country work full time) |

Message | The solution? Make pensions private, so this unsolvable discussion gets useless anyway |
