Voting deadline: July 4859
Description[?]:
For us of PRSD, we can only have real federalism, when the people of each city in our country can directly choose their mayors, in our view, this will have three main benefits: First: Cities have micro-problems and micro-demands that are different from each other, which are generally only well known to those who live in each city, issues that usually end up not being taken into account in federal and state planning, which seek the resolution of macroproblems that hit them on a larger scale. Mayors, as political leaders closest to the population, will be better able to solve these micro problems and satisfy these micro demands. Second: Greater political experience for our candidates, as municipal elections will allow them to experience political learning before they venture into federal and state politics, which could be very beneficial for them as they will have gained greater knowledge and may be able to make better decisions. Third: Our electoral system works with averages, and often, the population of certain cities vote for certain parties but these do not represent what these people believe, with the municipal elections, we will be able to have a better overview of the voter's ideas and allow the electorate to vote for politicians closest to them and that they can be better charged for fulfilling their proposals. |

Message | An important bill that will be rejected because of the vanity of the ruling party. It is sad to know that they think they own the country. Our country has no owner, we have to change this scenario. |

Message | "under the current system, local municipal councils, which have been elected locally, decide which system is best for for the own local needs. Some councils may chose to exercise mayoral responsibilities jointly, because they prefer to have a collegial system, where every council member can make an impact with their knowledge and talents. Soem councils may decide that a quasi-parliamentary system is best for their locality, where a democratically elected council elects a mayor who has to cooperate with the local municipal council at all times. And some may even chose to have a directly elected mayor, who has a separate mandate from the democratically council and therefore an independent power basis, which can cause conflict between mayor and council. We prefer to leave the decision which system is best for their particular locality to the democratically elected local councils themselves, rather than decreeing a one-size-fits all sytem from above."
