Bill: Divorce Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Greenish Liberal Democratic Socialists
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2224
Description[?]:
Divorces are legal, be it mutual consent, grounded cause or if one partner wants it. If there's adultry or violence involved, it already has gotten too far, thus we propose this as an alternative. We also believe marriages should be able to disbanded when both partners agree, avoiding nasty divorce battles.. |
Proposals

Proposal[?] to change The legality of divorces (if marriages are recognised).
Old value:: Divorces are only legal with grounded cause (such as adultery, or violence).
Current: Only divorces that comply with religious doctrine are legal.
Proposed: Divorces are legal, be it mutual consent, grounded cause or if one partner wants it.

Message | This will open the flood gates for divorce if it is approved. Marriage is a sacred institution. That is why we have the divorce law that we have now. |

Message | Sacred ? We are talking c i v i l contracts. Religious objections are completely irrelevant. |

Message | We oppose this measure. This will erode family values and leave us with to many single parents. The current law is fine. |
