Bill: Call for early elections, January 4872

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Conservative Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: September 4872

Description[?]:

We, the National Conservative Party, move that the Grand Assembly no longer has confidence in the Libertarian-led government. Having failed to act upon any agenda in this term or pass a single piece of legislation, the people of Rutania deserve fresh elections at once. The coalition of the DFP, SEP and LL are divided and have no clear path forward for governance.

We plead with members of the DFP, SEP and MNOS to at once support new elections for the people of Rutania.

MessageI don't see any reason to do that. If you say that the parliament is boring, why don't you create a bill or a law?
I will support an early election if there is an inactive party who lost his seat or we are unable to create a cabinet
If this bill is passed, it will set a bad precedent

MessageOnce again the DFP prove themselves to be unambitious and rigid low level perfunctories. A once great party has been reduced to a cuckolded lackey of the Libertarian League, occasionally rewarded with a cabinet position in exchange for a dog-like obedience and total surrender of values and principles. This party must at once strike “democracy” from their name, for no one in the Assembly shows more contempt for democracy than the so-called Democracy Freedom Party.

The DFP’s contempt for democracy and general backbone-deficit does indeed explain its incredibly
poor electoral performance in the last decade. An opportunity arises in this moment for them to correct this perception as a maverick and champion of the people, but predictably the DFP lacks the gall. A truly
pitiful party, and voters - denied the chance to do so in this instant - will punish the DFP, the LL and the SEP at the next election for their elitist and chauvinistic pimping out of Rutania’s democratic institutions.

Shame on the Grand Assembly! Shame!
