| Dear Assembly, dear President of the Assembly We as a parliamentary group are deeply concerned with the state of our democray. With the current neoliberal drift, politial parties are transforming more and more into corporate brands, politicians into businessmen that sell products(policies) for profit(votes, power) and most importantly, politial campaigns and agendas are becoming advertisment: we tend to believe that votes, such as coomon good purchases are something rational, when in reality it is often not the case: people buy what commercials show and not the products who are more efficient for them, in the same way people often vote who they see in the media, therefore the ones who have more money to fund their eletoral campaign. Big corporations are already exploiting it, funding political campaigns for parties or candidates they find more usefull to increment their profit, and this is a problem because in a democratic country every voice should count the same, but in reality a lot of candidates don't get elected for their ideas and values but beause they either are rich or they are supported by corporations. With this proposals we want to find a common solution to this problem our democracy is facing, hoping that the majority will understand our concerns - Alice Diallo for the SE group |
