Message | Maybe in another, place this bill would be something we could support. But banning religion outright is something the culture of Baltusia cannot sustain at the moment. Everything else we can support with varying degrees of enthusiasm. |

Message | We believe you're making assumptions about the Universe just as much as the theists are. You're stepping on Philosophers past and future who may not agree with your submission to dogma. |

Message | And may I add that there is nothing rational about blindly jumping to the conclusion that cosmic or absolute purpose is impossible. Even the lack of a God doesn't forbid purpose, and that can't be known. If you're to be taken seriously on the political scene, I must ask: why does nothing matter? -George of Highslag, Leader of the RYEP |

Message | The world has shown time and time again that it can get better. Time and time and time again it has gotten better. Besides, making any assumptions about the divine is inherently foolish, as we are talking about a being on a scale that we cannot even comprehend. To claim without evidence that a Divine being does not exist without proof, is the same exact thing as claiming that a Divine exists without proof. Besides, this also infringes on the fundamental ideal that all humanity should be allowed to decide their own beliefs and ideals, including religious. Overall I believe that Nihilism as a system of belief is fundamentally flawed and in fact, falls into the same trap as pessimism, that believing the world cannot be made better makes you not even try, even though, time and time and time again it has. Just think about it, even the smallest pieces of good can add up to make our world a better place. Why go out of your way to make it worse? Dogma and fanaticism of all kinds are fundamentally bad, and this bill represents a unique but still wrong Dogma that I will not allow to weigh down upon Humanity! - Alexandria Collins (NPP-R) |
