Bill: Rejecting the False Promise of Religion and Promoting State Atheism, October 4893
Details
Submitted by[?]: Deltářská Komunistická Strana
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4894
Description[?]:
Comrades! The influence of religion, which is merely an archaic obstacle on our path to communism, has clouded the judgements of our people for far enough! For too long religion, particularly the abhorrent Terran Patriarchal Church has held our people back, preventing them from reaching their full potential. When free from this barbaric illusion, our people will reach new heights and the long path to communism will be just a little shorter. But we must not delude ourselves in thinking this change will occur overnight. It is estimated that around 85% of our people are involved in the practice of religion, and many will resist our attempts to snuff it out. Therefore, in order not to anger our people we must not ban religion entirely, but instead remove it from the public sphere entirely. Atheism, the only logical conclusion one can come to when pondering the nature of God, will be promoted by the state and the Socialist Republics. Comrades, it will be a long process, but over time our people will no longer be dependent on this most absurd vice. |
