MessageWouldn't "tied" aid lead to a more active foreign policy? NPMP is conflicted upon this one and could go either way at this point.

MessageWell, "tied" aid as it is pointed out in our current law specifies the "tied" aid as trading rights.
Trading rights are a good base but not the last.

Like always a good trading situation needs also good security we can't gain in other regions
under the current law.

The term "tied aid" points out aid for trading right and only our treaties are able to put this law aside.
But not all nations on Terra are allies or partners in one of our treaties.
Nethertheless those countries may have a strategic location or strategic resources our Empire needs
to hold the current status of power and/or develope this status further to upper hights.

Let me give you an little example:

With all SOTO , TDE and AN allies we are able to send aid without trading rights as these treaties offer
us this option and our Imperial Senate voted in favour for them.

Now we take a look on Pontesi to our western border.
Our negotiations are going on then stopping and then going on again.
But our hands are tied with our own current law. We wouldn't be able to use our economical power
to "manipulate" the situation as I think at the moment Pontesi will not give us trading rights.

But nethertheless Pontesi is in a good strategic position, economically and military.
This nation opens a small cordon for all those we try to keep out of the "Mare Nostrum" the Majatran Sea.
Also Pontesi is a key stone for our trading routes with our westrn neighbour.
To be able to pick them on our side would be a new brick i our wall and our Trans-Archipelo-Project could
gain new attation.
We needn't to ship around their waters too if we will be able to have them on our side and this will reduce
the transportation costs of our shipping companies.

But to have the best available choices we need a more free hand we currently don't have.
Spending some millions today to shorten the trading lines and sea-lanes will bring us the double, trible and more benefit the next years.
And we would be able to secure our western border which will set free more military capabilities to send them elsewhere.

As Empire we really should start to act as one.
The history doesn't know Empires acting like small countries 'cause they fear the own power.

All Majatran nations and the most outside of our continent knows about our trading skills, our technology advantage and our military power
They like to trade with us, they like to be part of our security concept and we should like to conince more
countries to participate from us.

MessageI don't see why we give free aid to other soto tde and an allies anyway. The Selucian Tax Payer shouldn't be hurt by other nations being dumb enough to start a war they can't win

MessageWe see the VBS isn'T able to understand international treaties and possibilities.
To use her words why shall other nations be so dumb to buy Selucian products.
Oh, wait maybe because it has something to do with trade and politics ?

Oh gosh, politics , politics , what a big word and why is foreign aid and military also politics, oh my god ....
... damn, help so much matters and only one grey cell.
