local governments know better. This is a thing that has to be regulated by the government. This has to be set firmly to protect the rights of tenants. We have to to prevent exploitation of tenants.

MessageMr Speaker,

As a supporter of liberal economy practices we believe distorting the housing market with rent regulations is a bad policy which discourages private investment. Market should not be constrained in such way. We believe obligating landlords and tenants to negotiate rents better addresses the issue.

Mrs Yeşim Güleç
Deputy for Haftiye, Minister of Finance
