Bill: RP Proposal: Mark Robertson "saves" the Bloc

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 5006

Description[?]:

While the Bloc did not gain more than 7% of the vote in the other 4 duchies, the party list led by Mark Robertson in Northriding exceeded the expectations and won over 20% of the vote, becoming the second largest party, before the liberals. This is the best result ever for the Bloc in a duchy election.
Mark Robertson has great public speaking skills and knows how to captivate crowds. He is described as a left-wing populist, who has managed to appeal to a section of the population by campaigning with clear messages against the use of pesticides and for the introduction of a salary cap. Mr. Robertson also blamed "ultra-rich capitalists" for poverty and criticised the SDP for its alliance with the White Rose governor.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.

Random quote: "If democracy is ever to be threatened, it will not be by revolutionary groups burning government offices and occupying the broadcasting and newspaper offices of the world. It will come from disenchantment, cynicism and despair caused by the realization that the New World Order means we are all to be managed and not represented." - Tony Benn
