Message | An eclectic mix, and as such a mix that the SD will be unable to vote for. That of course will be ahuge dissapointment to you given we have no votes anyway. For what it's worht We would vote yes to 4, possible yes to 3 and 5 and no to 1 and 2. |
Date | 18:55:59, May 12, 2006 CET | From | Segue Democratic Alliance | To | Debating the LDP Bill |
Message | The SDA has a worryingly identical position to the SD, we half-support this bill. We have yet to decide our vote. A Bill containing only Articles 3, 4 and 5 would be assured of our support. |

Message | To Mixed LDP. break it up. |
Date | 04:19:14, May 13, 2006 CET | From | Liberal Democrat Party | To | Debating the LDP Bill |
Message | The LDP asks that if u support half the bill or 3 admendments than vote yes.. u can change the others if desired. In relation to article I, the LDP leader had the following to say: "We feel that as a nation we do indeed have the right to ban the death penalty from being used within our borders, however we also feel that we cannot command the actions or inactions of another nation. We live in a global community where all nations must be treated equally. We must accept there laws just as they accept ours. Any citizen of Vanuku knows the consequences of there actions in a foreign land, and they as well as the rest of the Vanuku citizens, must accept the consequences of this. This change is about co-exisiting in a global community. Whether we agree or disagree with the death penalty we must accpet it, in just the same fashion that other countires must accept and abide by the laws of our land." |
