Bill: RP: The Fourth of July Movement and the Kafuri Revolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alhizb Aldiymuqratiu Al'ahmadia‎

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 5027

Description[?]:

On July 4th, 5026, a group of fringe and underground radicals met in al-Kasraj with sectors of the Kafuri armed forces to discuss the possibilities of overthrowing the currently unpopular Monarchy. Kafuristan had been ruled by a pretender to the old royal throne and declared a Kingdom; but the government had become extremely unpopular with most Kafuris. The groups assembled in al-Kasraj would be known as the July Fourth Movement, and soon dominated both the political underground and sectors of the government.

The Fourth of July Movement continued to gain traction particularly among the military. The Movement planned to seize al-Kasraj in September 11; but the date of operation was moved to September 12 as the government reportedly suspected such activity. On 9/12/26; Colonel Abdul Mustafa Al-Mazraea sent tanks through al-Kasraj and seized points of interest as the nation fell nearly overnight to him and the Fourth of July Movement. Dissolving the Kingdom, they proclaimed the Majatran Mass Republic of Kafuristan in it's place; with martial law declared until 5030, when the government promised free elections. The King was evacuated and the Movement seized control of the nation with little incident. The events of September would later be known as the Kafuri Revolution and were depicted as a popular uprising; although in actuality the events were quiet and without conflict.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
