Bill: Secular Government and Education Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Ľavicová Strana – Komunisti (LSK)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 5031
Description[?]:
The state and church should be seperated and religious schools should be forbidden. Children of religious parents will already have their religious influences from home and we believe that it is important that the education system broadens the worldview of students and teach about a variety of religious faiths, worldviews and philosophies. We are strong supporters of the right to religios freedom and therefore we also seek to lift the total ban on foreign missionaries and replace it with person for person screening. We oppose implementing taxes on religious organizations as that risks undermining their important work in the communitiy, but we support implementing regulations on how much money religios leaders can make as a way to prevent corruption and make sure cult leaders can't exploit followers for wealth. - Zaida Akina, LSK Spokesperson of Education and Culture - Dragoslav Moldovanu, LSK Spokesperson of Social Issues |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We understand and support, the ideas of LSK, but we don’t think fully forbiding religious schools and prayers are a good point. Banning religious schools is a complete opposite to religious freedom. We support the bill, but would like to make some amendments to these laws after the vote. Ivona Grigorescu, SPO Party and Chamber Leader. |
