Message | Are you voting for them purely because they've reached out, or because there are valid reasons to have them on the security council? |
Date | 18:04:38, January 23, 2022 CET | From | Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK) | To | Debating the Voting for seats for the world congress |
Message | These Nations are nations we have been positively associated with in the past. Under NO circumstances have we been on positive terms with Baltusia, whose bidding the Kalistani Party, joke of a name that is, seems to be doing in recent legislation. |

Message | The last interaction we had with Baltusia was a near war over their insistence that we not be allowed to operate our National Military up to our own borders, and demands that we establish a 100 mile DMZ WITHIN Kalistan. We haven't had any relations with them since then though we have condemned them for their intervention in a Ntoto in 4881 The last time we had anything to do with Baltusia was hundreds of years ago. So why is the "Kalistani Party" therefore seeking to advance the interests of strangers in This Republic? http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=92&p=168928#p168928 |

Message | After 180 years it seems like a sensible time to rebuild relations with our immediate neighbour. With the exception of the left no-one has the institutional memory of this incident between our two nations. |

Message | And yet, we have not rebuilt those relations with our neighbors. It would seem that unilaterally conforming our policy to the interests of our neighbors without RPing any diplomatic visits or exchanges, or a gradual improvement of relations is weird. Almost like a Baltusian agent has come into Kalistan, organized a Party, and is doing the work of the Baltusian Government from within the Kalistani National Assembly. Please forgive us, if we are suspicious, but, that does seem like suspicious behavior. |

Message | Yes, we have often wondered if the "Socialist Party" is doing the bidding of the Deltarians, there is far too much familiarity. |

Message | As for institutional memory, our Newspaper is Canon. I would hope that the current Government would at least take a little time to SEARCH that national biography for "Baltusia" to see the last time we interacted with Baltusia, before proposing a radical alteration of Kalistani Policy toward them. Because this time it is 180 years, but Given the lack of interest the current Government has in Kalistan's recent history, they probably do not even know that Kalistan has recently been in talks with Deltaria, for a update to the destroyer fleet in Kalistan's regular Navy. now, that was discussed in our Paper not two years ago, but here is the Government now withdrawing support for a friendly nation who is to sell us destroyers at firesale prices, to support yet another country we have never once had any sort of diplomatic relations with. Please, Comrade. Familiarize yourself with Kalistan's recent history at least so you can see what sort of country you are trying to govern. Its literally the least you could possibly do. |

Message | I think we now must stress that given the hurt it causes the "Socialist Party", we must make it clear we have different policies. You highlight a very good point. After many years of neglect we must put greater effort into working with our immediate neighbours. We are pleased the "Socialist Party" wishes to hold the new government to account. You will no doubt put more effort into this than you do into governing. We were right to point out that the previous government should have made more effort to justify this legislation and the failure to do so is one reason we have worked rapidly to amend it. |

Message | For years, the policies of the Government of Kalistan were ideal for Kalistan. We do not believe in change for change's sake. We also do not see the current changes offered by the current Government of Kalistan to be change for any other reason than the ideology of the Government has changed. We will no commit to ensuring that the Current Government loses the Majority, and then these policies will be undone, for no other reason than they are wrong headed and are no consonant with Kalistan's history. |

Message | We will happily compete with the "Socialists Party" and look forward to the next set of elections. |
