At Richbrough, in Erneshire, the members of the National Democratic Party met in Congress to be able to elect the leader of the party and the candidates for the post of Prime Minister and the post of Deputy Prime Minister: the candidates for the presidency were: Herbert Clark and Barry Goldwater (see profile on party description) Goldwater won the election for the post of president with a small difference in votes against his competitor: the incumbent Herbert Clark. Goldwater: Wins the Erneshire, Orange, Shipleyriding and Middenriding caucuses Vote: 50,498 votes Clark: Wins the Northriding Caucus Vote: 49,502 votes The candidates for the post of Prime Minister were: Robert F. Thomas, Wallace F. Bennett and George W. Wallace (see profile on party description) In the first round, candidates Thomas and Wallace won against Wallace: - Thomas: Wins Orange and Erneshire caucuses Vote: 36,251 votes - Bennett: Wins Shipleyriding and Northriding caucuses Votes: 22,548 votes - Wallace: Wins Middenriding Caucus Votes: 17,482 votes In the second round, Thomas won against Bennett thanks to the support of the L-NDP, the unity of the C-NDP and the disunity of the R-NDP - Thomas: Wins the Northriding, Orange, Shipleyriding and Middenriding caucuses Votes: 54,625 votes - Wallace: Wins the Erneshire caucus Votes: 45,375 votes Robert F.
