Message | Speaker of the Socialist Party: We consider the generation and provision of energy to the Republic to be a major public sector activity. What advantage does partial privatization to for profit companies provide over energy which is generated at cost by the state? That energy will ALWAYS be more expensive to consumers who will pay premiums to service the profit-demands of investors. We encourage the Government to explain the practical, and not ideological, need for the privatization of these essential and strategic public sector activities. |

Message | There is no privatisation. But the private sector can build new power stations, currently only the state can do so. |

Message | We still are not clear why the private sector ought to be allowed to generate energy on a for profit basis whether or not the Government sees this bill as permission to divest. We will oppose and work for this proposal's reversal. |

Message | Why shouldn't they be allowed? Current law states that domestic energy is supplied by nationalised company, so this won't effect the price of domestic energy. Private sector sales will be to foreign markets, creating jobs and profits for Kalistan. |
