Message | Remove women from the front line? OOC: Excuse me, but haven't you looked at the history of the Soviet Union? Women fought alongside men for revolution in 1917, and in 1941, women fought with men on the front lines against the fascists. Many women distinguished themselves in air combat. IC: To remove women from the military is to take away their power. |

Message | ooc: thats a trifle dishonest, women fought on the front line in the USSR in the Great Patriotic War, but not in actual formations, only in certain circumstances. It certainly was never official policy of the Red Army to have women in the front line. Also, women did not serve in the front line in the Russian Civil War, the Revolution of 1917 was hardly an armed struggle. After WW2 the USSR, the USA and Israel all tried to incorporate women into the front line, and all three nations eventually dropped the scheme, because it didn't work. IC: The military is not there to empower women or to bring about equality. Women should never serve in the front line, and only pacifists and fags would beg to differ. |
