Description[?]:
The Wilson Administration decides to start implementing the Kennedy Plan to combat the Economic Crisis that the country is going through. The Kennedy Plan is a plan created by the Economist and Owner of Kennedy's Industries: Callum Kennedy, a member of the powerful Kennedy Family, they are so powerful and their company competes with Rutherford Industries, that the only thing they lack is a title of nobility, which they can never receive because they are Hosians but affiliated with Aurorianism (Catholicism); and that members of the nobility can only be Hosians belonging to the Holy Luthorian Church (Anglican) and are descendants of Kilani, a people living mostly in Kirwala, but having a very large diaspora after the Great Famine of 4586, which nearly destroyed the country and halved its population... Well, where was I, oh yes, The Kennedy Plan, the plan developed by the economically liberal politicians of the Progressive Party, like Henry Robertson, Millie Adams and William Dixon and backed by industrial and economic giants like Harry Rutherford, Max Cook and Kennedy himself, is technically an ultra-liberal plan, advocating cutting the annual budget and raising taxes and stopping all aid or subsidies to industries, but they knew that the Moderate and Internationalist branches were never going to agree and so they decided, at the instigation of Kennedy himself and in the hope of placating the Moderate members of the Gone, they changed some conditions, they still recommend to lower the annual budget, but now propose to increase taxes for the richest, put in place some government interventions to avoid the bankruptcy of industries and companies and a gradual release of economy, Kennedy and his associates proposed this plan to the Prime Minister, who welcomed it, but told them that a group of Socialist MPs had proposed a plan called The Willis Plan, which was written by Walter Baker. Willis, who proposed a plan consisting of tax increases, economic intervention and all-out nationalizations. But to gain the support of moderates and liberals, Wilson agreed to implement Kennedy's Plan, hoping that this plan would work. |
