Description[?]:
Shipleyriding Ducal Legislature is dominated by the AfC who hold 60 seats. 28 legislators, all belonging to the RP, have decided to leave both the party and the AfC after the Reform Party National Congress voted against allowing abortions. The highest governing body of the RP, the National Congress, (RPNC) voted this year to continue its anti-abortion stance. This angered many of the more socially progressive members of the party. Shipleyriding Duchy is one of the most left-wing regions in Luthori and many RP politicians from Shipleyriding are even more left than the party. *This is an act of protest!* Says Linda Blackwell, a newly elected MP who initiated the separation. The 28 legislators who left will form an independent group in Shipleyriding called the Progressive Alliance (PA). The PA has not commented on wether they will stand for election next year. Newly elected party leader Kate Livington has declined to give an interview but says in a press release that the Shipleyriding Reform party will continue to govern and that the party will not be swayed by acts like this. - National Review |
