| Many happy hoorahs from the Reform Party sympathizers when the Grand Welfare Reform passed with 142 votes in favour and 131 against. The Reform Party had anticipated to fund these new public welfare initiatives with the passing of a new budget. Sadly for them, the budget was voted down in the Diet. The RP was expecting support from the UDM. Without that support the Luthori government is now in a tricky position. The Imperial Health Service (IHS), Common Pensions Guarantee (CPG) and Public Education System (PES) are now operating these public options with limited funds. The question of how to fund these new institutions will be the most important topic in the minds of voters. Many seek to abolish the Grand Welfare Reforms, most notably the BC who have proposed a re-privatization of these services. The coming election will decide the future of Luthori welfare.
