| In the interest of safety for the fetus, the mother's health, the mother's mental state, and the overall wellbeing of our economy and society, we propose a ban on abortions except in cases of rape, incest, or threat to the mother's life. Simply put, if you consent to sexual activity, you consent to pregnancy. Whether or not you use one of the many, widely available contraceptives, or use another method to avoid pregnancy, all need to understand that no matter what, the only way to completely avoid the chance of pregnancy, is to have basic self control, and abstain. If a person can stop themselves from murdering another human when they're insulted, they can use self control, or at least process the risks involved in having intercourse. Having intercourse and not expecting there to be a chance of pregnancy is like eating food and not expecting it to be digested. Rather, people should have to face up to their mistakes, rather than take another life. We have a societal concept of responsibility, in every area, except for childbirth. Thusly, we present our argument. Responsibility matters. |
