Bill: National Motto Amendment

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2070

Description[?]:

A proposal to have a new national motto to remove efficiency and put in individuality.

Individuality is a noble value. Individuality reflects the fact that people have different ideals, values and experience. That they are allowed to express them and be themselves.

We can not say that everyone has to be the same, individuality is saying that everyone is different and therefore we must all be ourselves.

MessageAgainst, "Individuality" is not a value we should promote and sounds like a party political stance.

MessageIndividuality is a noble value. I support. After all, it's not like we should necessarily expect our citizens to be efficient or not, it's their own choice (individuality reflects the fact that people have different ideals and are allowed to have them)

MessageYou could argue that efficiency, liberty and prosperity are all party political stances. Liberty means you like freedom and democracy. (not all parties support that)

Prosperity means you support a strong economy and prosperity (Communists do not support that)

Individuality is soemthing all political ideologies should support apart from maybe communists.
