MessageHow was that well said? There are thirteen cabinet posts, therefore realistically you need one elected MP for each post, and one to 'shadow' that post. 26 MP's with the civil service can do the work just as effectively as 750. A reduction of 250 MP's takes bugger all power away from the people. And how does combining the HoS and the HoG reduce the peoples power? Bearing in mind that the HoS currently appoints the HoG, if anything it reduces the HoS power, whilst simulatenously increasing the peoples power as they now elect the HoG.
