MessageWe believe that the current age limit for compulsory schooling is best left at 16. We also feel that the age of adulthood should be the same as that of the age for the end of compulsory schooling to avoid discrimination against those who may choose to tnter the workplace after 16 rather than go on to higher education

MessageWell, thats why I want to change both together. duh.....

They would not be adults and wouldn't enter the workplace until at least 18. They would still be getting an education.

Message16 year olds are not ready for the real life. Most anyway. Many 18 year olds arent either, but going over 18 is kinda pushing it.

MessageI, as much as it makes me feel unclean, agree with the UCA, its best that students are given the choice to leave school at 16 and enter the workforce if thats what they want. I would vote on making the adult one, where you are only considered an adult at 18.

MessageIf a student feels they can no longer benifit from higher education, why should we hold them there longer? Education does not always equal a better life or more money.

MessageNo student feels they will benefit from more school. When I was 16 I couldnt wait for school to end, but it was better I stayed. I would have gotten eaten alive.

MessageAnd at 16 I was well aware of the fact that I was not ready for the workforce. If at 16 a student can leave, and at some point can continue (through correspondence etc.) their education, what have they lost? They've gained some experience and the knowledge that they need more time.

MessageI do believe 16 is too young to relase people out onto the streets. We need to educate them a bit more, maybe if it was to be more in areas like Industry and carpentry etc...

MessageBut they are not likely to continue education unless forced to in some way.

MessageOf course they will continue education if they want the sort of job and to earn the sort of money which rquires them to have a university degree. For those who wish to go into more vocational jobs that do not require more of an academic education then they should be free to leave to pursue other careers and apprenticeships etc.
