Message | Any other suggestions for things to be named? For the capital of Golavia, I was thinking Jorka, we RP that a lot. |
Date | 23:45:59, June 20, 2005 CET | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Jorka's fine. I'd like to name Daro as Kregon's capital, as the Council's headquarters were (in my mind) located in Kregon's capital and that's where I put the HQ during RP. |
Date | 00:27:27, June 21, 2005 CET | From | MLTP (The Resistance) | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | As long as Jorka's the capital of Golavia, anything else is fine by me. |
Date | 00:28:34, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Can the capital of Rapula be Ficklesburg? OK, just joking. I'd assumed the national capital would also be capital of its region, but it doesn't have to be. Naming a city after our first President-Councillor might also be both fun and maddening for opposition parties.... AC, do you remember the name? |

Message | Christopher Lannings, the original puppy killer? :-P |
Date | 07:22:50, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Perhaps for one of the other ones, we could come up with a name that incorporates "Lieven"--In honor of the game creator... Was the Amystian Council the first to be Head of State? |
Date | 09:04:21, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Lodamun Centre-Left Coalition | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Yes, long ago, when the MLP and CCF both had 0 seats :P |
Date | 09:09:01, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Lodamun Centre-Left Coalition | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Port Andalay's good for national capital, but could we please do something different for Andalay? Since the MLP does better in Andalay and Kregon, and as Kregon is already named, I'd like to name the capital of Andalay Orean. ((OOC: At least one party in Lodamun besides myself should find that name familiar...)) |

Message | Edom November was the first President-Councillor, and I would not object to there being a city named November, but that's up to you guys. Following November's single term, we had an MLP PC (can't remember who it was back then, sorry), followed by two terms for Christopher Lannings, two terms for Damien Vrylar, and one(?) term for Aleksander Burke. And MLP, the only thing I see in that name is Olean. >> |

Message | Look - this is not my fault, alright? I'm happy with nearly any name for anything (except stuff like Hitler City, Maotown etc). But I can't help it if the Rapulese gripe about it now can I? |
Date | 20:45:46, June 21, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Wht would it be your fault? Oh, I was thinking PolPotVille and Mugabegrad would be nice. Perhaps Mussolinia or Pinochetgrad? |
Date | 20:46:16, June 21, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Ok, just two more to go, any suggestions? |
Date | 22:50:09, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | November would work anywhere, really. Maybe as capital of Norstavan? Or of Rapula, if the Rapulese need a colonialist name to complain about. Or maybe they recently renamed their capital as Marx-Lenin-Trotskyburg or something. |
Date | 04:25:28, June 22, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | ((Well, Norvastan seem to be the Council's bitches. As for the Rapulese, man are they messed up. They vote 21% for the SAP, but only 9% for the council, even though they have identical voting records.)) |

Message | Reading up on Rapulese history (in translation of course) apparently the state capital is established in one of the few lowland areas of Rapula and, until the national administration sited the local government there, it was only a smallish town. The area itself was not considered part of the former lands of Rai Poo Lar until administrative restructuring, based on railway access, saw it included in the modern region. Historically, the spiritual centre, Con Sol Amar, was far up amid the mountain range. It is still a relatively small village despite the fact that most Rapulese, even now, visit it at least once in their lives. During the busiest influx of visitors the permanent buildings are surrounded by a city of tents. It's a fascinating text. We're hoping to get it reprinted, if only on a small run. |

Date | 03:06:21, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | (( Kregon's always been my bitch, except for last term. :D Norvastan seems to fluctuate a little. )) |
Date | 04:30:51, June 23, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | ((Albert, what do the annals of history tell you about the current capital of Rapula?)) |
Date | 06:06:38, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | ((Ficklesburg! Damn Rapulese can't vote for the same party twice in a row!)) |
Date | 08:43:45, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | (( Ficklesburg works for me. I mean, they go from PACF stronghold to adamant AC/SAP supporters in less than a decade. *lol* )) |
Date | 16:36:28, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | ((And don't forget Fascist stronghold in there too. They must be putting something funny in the water there.)) |
Date | 23:36:51, June 23, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Naming Things |
Message | Ahem, I think you all mean Ficklesbourg...they can be very touchy about spellings. |
