The ducal elections led to some kind of stalemate between the government and the opposition.

The ruling Coalition, led by Mark Ryan, secured Middenriding with a comfortable majority, kept Northriding but with a small margin this time and lost Orange to the Luthorian Labour. Although the results are not catastrophic, it is a warning sign for the right-wing coalition. In Northriding, Erneshire and Orange, the Coalition made large losses, that can be interpreted as a sanction for the ruling party.

Sarah Straughan, who wanted to challenge the government with a brand new coalition named Alliance for the Fatherland, was largely re-elected in Erneshire with over 60% of the votes. The Alliance for the Fatherland also flipped Shipleyriding, a stronghold of the CNP, with 37% of the votes. In Northriding, the AF made a breakthrough and almost flipped the duchy. In Middenriding and Orange, the results are much lower, at 16% and the PB even made large losses in Orange. Overall, good results for the AF, but not enough to scare the establishment.

The Luthorian Labour is the surprise of the elections. The left-wing party gained over 10% of the votes in 4 duchies and flipped Orange with a whopping 45% of the votes. The Labour managed to seduce young and urban voters with their progressive worldview. Now,the party has to govern and can really have an impact.

For the LSP and CNP, however, the elections are a big slap in the face. The LSP makes heavy losses everywhere and does not even enter parliament again in Orange. Concerning the CNP, the corruption scandal in Shipleyriding totally wiped out the party in the duchy, gaining only 2.12% of the votes, an humiliating defeat. Elsewhere, the results are not better and the party even falls out of parliament in Erneshire and Orange.
The LSP gained 21 seats overall and the CNP 16 seats.

Two new parties enter various ducal parliaments and will make their voices heard: the MTP and CSCU.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
